Jennifer Kanell’s father always reminded her of the importance of having equanimity. The dictionary defines the word as "mental or emotional stability or composure, especially under tension or strain; calmness; equilibrium." Every day in her work as an Escrow Assistant for Honor Escrow, she’s reminded of how important equanimity is during the sometimes pressure-filled process of successfully closing an escrow.

Keeping Calm Under Pressure and Getting the Job Done

"What we do at Honor Escrow is very important in the lives of so many people, including the agents, the buyers and sellers," Jennifer explains. "We have to focus, keep our composure and make sure the we get the escrow closed for all parties involved." Jennifer understands and believes that owning a home is a dream that most people aspire to achieve. "In many ways," she adds, "we help make that dream happen for the buyers."

Important Contributions to the Escrow Process

Jennifer serves as an Escrow Assistant at Honor Escrow. Her important role includes opening escrows, working with the agents to establish initial contact, ordering HOA documents and title. She and her fellow team members work alongside agents, as well as the buyers and sellers. They type up escrow instructions and provide great customer service, always making sure to follow through. The goal is to get the escrow closed so all parties can get closure and move on to the next chapters in their lives.

Great Team Spirit

Jennifer really enjoys the camaraderie and teamwork that is prevalent in the Honor Escrow offices. "We each contribute our individual strengths, and we work well together," she notes. "I love how we are all extremely supportive. It’s common for team members to help each other when needed, and we all cross over to help with other tasks as needed." That team work is key to Honor Escrow’s ongoing success and the great reputation they’ve built.

Family Time is Important

When Jennifer is not hard at work getting escrows closed and making dreams come true, she loves spending time with family and friends. Time with her two children, Kahlie and Dylan, and two grandchildren, Cash and Levi, is her favorite thing. "I love spoiling my grandchildren," Jennifer says. "Taking them to Disneyland is always so exciting and we look forward to those trips."

Personal Pastimes and Bucket List

In addition, Jennifer relaxes by taking on DIY projects and attending estate sales. She is also a huge baseball fan. In fact, on her bucket list is to attend a Major League Baseball game in every stadium. To date, she’s checked off nine of the 30 stadiums!
