Serving in the Escrow industry since 1996, Sarah Alford is a seasoned veteran who brings a wealth of knowledge and insights to the Honor Escrow team. In her role as Escrow Officer for Honor Escrow, Sarah’s team and the agents and buyers and sellers they serve benefit from all that experience and all those insights.

Cultivating a Powerful Team Dynamic

However, if you ask Sarah, she considers herself one of the team, and she likes how the group communicate as equals and share in the workload. “It’s such a powerful team dynamic in the Honor Escrow offices,” Sarah points out. “I love how we all pull together with a common goal—to get the files closed and work together to create happy agents and happy buyers and sellers.”

Knowing When They Have Done a Great Job

For Sarah, knowing when they’ve done a great job is simple: “It was a smooth escrow and we closed on time,” she explains. “Our goal is to make it as stress free as possible, which is not easy with all the moving parts, different personalities involved and so many different schedules to coordinate and adjust to.”

The Importance of Great Communication

Like everyone in the Honor Escrow offices, Sarah cites communication as one of the most critical components to achieving success in each escrow they work on and keeping that transaction running smoothly. “One of the ways I can make the process feel less stressful is by always striving to feel approachable and friendly on the phone and in person,” she explains. “I want all parties I interact with to feel free to approach me and ask questions without feeling they are bothering me.”

Feeling a Sense of Pride

“I think owning a home is a huge accomplishment for anyone, and everyone should feel a great sense of pride when they are officially homeowners,” she notes. “I know myself and my team feel a great sense of pride when we help them accomplish this feat. We work hard to make sure that happens for them.”

How Sarah Likes to Relax and Recharge

When she’s not busy overseeing her clients’ escrows and guiding her team, Sarah enjoys hanging out with her 14-year-old son, Jack. “We love going to the movies,” she says. “Hanging out with family outdoors in the sun, relaxing poolside, going to the beach, those are my happy moments.”

Farmer Sarah?

Sarah laughs and tells people she has a small farm she also manages. “I have six chickens, two dogs, one cat and three guinea pigs in my menagerie,” she says. “They keep me busy, but they all give me a sense of joy and happiness in my life as well.”
